SWFC - Owls sign Kasnik on loan

Sheffield Wednesday have signed versatile defender David Kasnik on loan from Slovenian outfit Olimpija Ljubljana, subject to international clearance.

The 24-year-old can play at centre half or full back and joins the Owls until January 2012.

Kasnik joined the Slovenian top-flight side from boyhood club NK Dravograd in 2008 and has since posted 47 appearances for Olimpija.

He was part of the Olimpija squad that gained promotion to the top tier after a five-year absence in 2009.

Kasnik said: "Sheffield Wednesday is a really big club and this is a good opportunity for me to impress the manager and the fans.

"I can play in the centre of defence or at left back but I much prefer to play in the centre."
